I picked two states where I would like to live, and that had a reasonable amount of facilities. Picking Wyoming may not be the best idea because they never need many people as they have 1 facility. Picking the dakotas, montana etc is the same thing: they don't usually need many people. Go with a region that you would like to live in, look at the states around it. Call some of the facilities (it may not give you 100% answers but it may give you a feel of their upcoming needs) and then hope they pick you.
