i like to at least get the callsign AND holding short. it's a pet peeve of mine when pilots don't use their callsign. especially with an altitude assignment or hold short instruction. i always ask them again until they use their callsign.

ie.
me: N123 hold short runway 20, landing traffic
pilot: holding short
me: verify that was N123 that said holding short
pilot: affirmative
me: verify that was N123 that said affirmative


it gets very annoying to the pilot and honestly i feel stupid for doing it. but, it annoys the sh!t outta me when they leave their callsign out on an instruction. i don't get my panties in a wad when it's not an instruction and they leave out their callsign. for instance, if i ask them their type landing and they just come back with "full stop" i'm okay with that.
