Your recruiter is full of s@%t, you can be guaranteed a job! I wouldn’t sign anything until you are. I'm in the AF now (ATC) and have been for 6 years on my way out for the FAA. Personally this is the best job I could have ever asked for. As for you being the right candidate? Unfortunately that is something that can only be answered by you. We have many people come through extremely book smart that can’t talk to planes. On the flip side we have complete morons that are the best controller’s I’ve seen. Just so you know, if you join the AF you have to do a 6 year commitment to be ATC. That puts you over the age limit for the FAA, if that’s something you were looking to transition into.
