I am really new to the whole process...I just took the AT-SAT for pubnat7. When I started this process, I was working for an airline and going back and forth between two cities to see my boyfriend. Two of the many reasons I applied for ATC is because I wanted to work at a stable place, and move closer to where I wasn't having to commute between two/three cities.

As Geo Pref emails are about to come out, I was thinking about CO or TX. However, with my boyfriend not being at a major airline yet, and with no one hiring, he could be based somewhere else in 5-10 years trying to commute. For example, I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I got Houston center and then he gets based somewhere else in a couple years...and we are both living in Houston, when we really don't want to.

I know I have heard that it is extremely hard to transfer. I've heard where some people just eventually have to quit because they can't get transferred to where their family is.

The more information I can get the better I can make my geo prefs...can anyone give me information on that process. I haven't been able to find much in the forums.
