Being OTS will not preclude you from the job, but it will drastically reduce your odds VS being CTI.
If you have a degree already, I've heard that there are some programs that allow you to just take a few classes. I think you might even be able to take them online. The programs do qualify for financial aid as well. It's definately worth it to take a look. Check the CTI section, there are quite a few threads regarding this topic.
