Re: Length of academy for OTS?

I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Don't be the guy that they always see in one of the break rooms watching tv or on the computer. I'm not saying you can't do these things, but if every time they (management) sees you and you're in there, you tend to develop a reputation within their little group. When you're not in the classroom, monitor. Once you get checked out on FD/CD and it's a slow period, break out the books. I'm not going to say that if you study hard you'll make it. Like Genot said, you are also trying to make a good impression in the event you don't make it. With other facilities being overstaffed, washout placement isn't going to be as common. If they like you, they'll do what they can to help you. I told other new hires at A80 to not buy a house prior to checking out, and they didn't listen. They washed out and ended up going out of state with a new job and were stuck with their house. Avoid the hassle and rent. Stay positive, but be realistic. It's a level 12 with a developing training program. They are only a few years into training new hires, so they are still trying to figure out what works. It's going to be very hard, but not impossible.

Can someone please tell me the name of the course after basics? Want to check it out on the online course catalog and there's too many classes on there for me to narrow it down.

thanks in advance.

If you're going to a tower, it's initial tower cab training.

Dude, you're going at the end of the year...don't bother yourself with looking up that schedule. It's only good for providing false hope.
