I'll ask him on Monday. Now that you mention it, he did sayn something like that in the first day or 2, which would conflict with his more recent statement of "no one can fail on the basis of academics." I'll get clarification.

Correct. He had just gotten laid off from his teaching job and was watching Fox news in '08. They were talking about how much need there was for controllers, and how they got a $100k "signing bonus" and $20k relocation bonus, in addition to salary. He applied right then and there.

(Oh, and he later found out that the bonuses were for VRA only).

I think you do.... but it comes down to the fact that your facility owns you.

So maybe they are somehow conviced that some random gal or guy who was sick with the flu all week got 65%....but strings were pulled and the facility said they would keep them.

This is in line with what we have been told....your facility owns you with the exception of conduct at MMAC.

True dat.

You'll still get the boot if you don't pass the PV/New PV with the appropriate score, though. But don't need to worry about that one until after Basics.

No more PV for us En Routers. By New PV I meant the three big scenarios on the last two days. Someone needs to think up a new name for it.

I have a question...If you took the basics test during school, do you have to take it again at the academy?

If you are picked up through a pubnat you will take it at the end of the basics course. Cti take it at the the start of their class to see how much you remembered and how well the school is teaching you.

These days it's more like how much you remember... given the time from school to academy... lot's can escape in 1-2 years without using that info.
