    Re: Midwest ATC Insurance.

As Midwest ATC employees we are looking for support or ideals on ways to convince Midwest ATC they need to change their current Health Insurance policies. Several years ago Midwest ATC took control of employee benefit money and forced them to either spend it on a low quality health insurance that is not family oriented or a 401K plan. Over the past several years Midwest ATC has promised change but has shown zero progress. The current CEBA insurance has very little benefit for a single person and the quality of benefit continues to decline every year. The family plan that cost over $700 a month is not affordable for most families. A less expensive family heath insurance is available outside the company, However since an employee does not have access to their benefit money this option is also not an option for the struggling family. As our spouses become unemployed we will loose our ability to opt out of the CEBA insurance and be left without family insurance, unless you are able to afford losing your spouse’s paycheck and $375 from your Midwest paycheck every month. The current situation is simple not how the government intended this benefit to be used.

As Midwest employees our goal is to once again have access to our benefit money so we can buy affordable family health insurance outside the company. We are currently working on a general letter that can be distributed to our congress men (This letter should be made available within the next few days). Maybe if they are aware of our situation they can help convince Midwest ATC change is necessary. The price for quality family health outside the company can be as low a $350 a month or even $200 a month for a major medical high deductible plan that could help you avoid losing everything in the event of a emergency.

If you are currently not enrolled in the Midwest insurance then you are one of the lucky ones. Please consider your fellow employees and help ensure change. Please be advised that this is not a union and this group of employees has no faith in a union anymore. We believe Union dues would be better spent on letters and stamps. We are also not looking for anybody to place their names on the firing line. The change we are looking for can be ensured simply by making the correct people aware of the current horrible situation. Please email any Ideals, support or comments to mwihome@yahoo . com Thank You!

    Re: Midwest ATC Insurance.

I worked for Midwest then for RVA. back on those days Midwest policy was: use all fringe benefits moneis for some worthless insurance (AFLAC) or you loose it (no 401K option). Currently, Serco employees are on the same boat as Midwest; either buy an extremely expensive insurance or deposit your money into a 401K. Now, I was some what surprised by the cost of your family coverage ($700.00). RVA's family coverage will cost you approximately $1400.00 a month.

    Re: Midwest ATC Insurance

My family and I have the insurance from Midwest right now and it is the worst coverage on the planet. often i get a letter from my doctor stating that the insurance company refuses to pay, even for my kids checkups and medications. i absolutely hate it.
