ederoda, first, you need a dispatch license. There are many schools out there that offer the course. (I am actually working on creating a big thread with as many schools as I can find.) It is a fairly short course, about 5-6 weeks. I also believe most schools will help place you.

Almost all airlines need dispatchers (ALL major Airlines do require dispatchers). For the most part, the Major Airlines (American, Southwest, Delta, etc...) will not hire dispatchers right out of school. You will generally start with a Regional (American Eagle, Colgan Air, Continental Express), a Corporate Airline, or a Cargo Airline.

So, to finally answer your question, finding a Dispatch job is like finding any job, you pick your "dream employer" and keep an eye out for openings there, and in the meantime, you just look through classifieds and apply. I hope people will post here in the Dispatch Employment forum any time they hear of a dispatch job, so keep looking here as well. Also, Aviation is a pretty tight community, and once you are in, you will hear about a new job every week.
