Follow Up ADHD question
Posted: 08-25-2009, 02:52 AM Would a diagnosis of ADHD be disqualifying if it was made in middle school, medication was taken for one year until my parents decided that it wasn't ADHD, and I have sought no treatment nor had any subsequent diagnosis in over 10 years. (i.e. I don't think I ever had ADHD, but rather that it was the trendy excuse at the time for kids who were, well, being teenagers)
Along the same line, I was on medication for depression in high school, but have not been on any medication for over 5 years, and show no symptoms of depression (in other words, I was a moody teenager whose parents tried to solve problems with medicines that I probably didn't need). |

Re: Follow Up ADHD question
Posted: 08-25-2009, 01:47 PM To add on to that question. I didn't ask this in my previous question about ADHD. Are there any waivers you can get if you're diagnosed with ADHD as a current fully certified controller with a Class II Medical or is it fully disqualifying no matter what?

Re: Follow Up ADHD question
Posted: 08-26-2009, 12:49 PM You can not have any current diagnosis of ADHD or depression and pass a medical. If it was diagnosed as a child and currently not on any treatment, then the FAA will review it on a case by case basis.
