Yet another eye question!
Posted: 08-26-2009, 10:09 PM

My husband was advised to see an ophthalmologist after mentioning in conversation to the examiner that he had Lasik surgery a few years ago. The ophthalmologist stated his Lasik surgery had left no scars or problems. He did, however find a tiny asymptomatic hole in the upper right area of the retina. He states there is no fluid in the hole. There are no strong indicators that the retina will become detached. My spouse faxed the exam information to the FAA and is awaiting medical clearance. Will this be a disqualifier of any kind? If so, can he appeal since it is asymptomatic?
