Card on Eye Exam
Posted: 11-18-2009, 08:02 AM

Yesterday, I got my first class medical renewed. On the eye exam, there is a card that has numbers and tick marks, and I was required to say which number a line crossed (numbers had a range probably from 15 to 30ish). What does this test? I was fine, but what does it mean if someone gets too far to the left or right? Is this test required for the ATC second class also?

Without giving away too much information, when I tested, I still fell in the acceptable range but pretty close to the cutoff. I believe the cutoff is 18, and I saw 19. What does that mean?

There are several measures out there. The numbers are relative for each test, so I cant comment other that the fact you passed and it should not get worse with age.
