ATC vs Pilot medical
Posted: 11-20-2009, 10:42 AM

Hello,

I was working as a commercial pilot for the last 5 years so I have always had just a first class medical. I quit my flying job in August and am currently going to ATC school. My medical expires this December.

My question is:

I will need to get an ATC medical however, I'm a CFI and occasionally do some flying. Will one medical be good for both ATC and Flying? Or do I have to get separate medicals?

Thanks,
Ken

Should be good for both. I occasionally will issue ATC a cert during their medical. It is considered a second class medical.
