Anxiety

Hi Doc,

I have been a controller for 20+ years. For 18 of those years I have been suffering serious problems with muscle tension/pain in my feet/legs/back/neck making it very difficult to stand for more than 10 minutes. 4-5 years ago I started developing trembling symptoms and insomnia. The insomnia got really bad in the last few years - never more than 6 hours/night and usually about 4.5. I had some unusual heart palpitation episodes over the last few years too. I have seen dozens of doctors about these symptoms over the years but never anyone in the mental health field. I finally sought treatment for anxiety (some family history) and am doing so much better on a very small dose of Diazapam (2mg - that didn't even show up on an FAA urine test - while I was disqualified of course.) I tried coming off the med after several months and symptoms quickly returned. I don't want to lose my job this close to retirement. Are there any other meds you know of that might treat anxiety without disqualifying me?

Thanks!

The diagnosis of anxiety alone dysqualifys you. Sorry.
