Eye Question
Posted: 01-13-2010, 09:21 PM

I have been told i have pars planitis. A condition in the eyes that created floaters. My vision is corrected to 20/20. I was told I may need a vitrectomy in right eye for quality of life purposes if the floaters don't go away. This condition is common in young healthy people. If I was to get that vitrectomy would I be DQ 'd or can I get a waiver if my vision stays 20/20 and I can effectively perform job duties. I currently hold a medical clearance for ATC enroute.

As long as you can pass your vision test with 20/20 and the floaters don't interfere with job duties. You will be OK.
