Military Reserves and ATC

Hello All,
I have received a TOL for ZAN and I am waiting for an FOL. I have heard through the grapevine that I should not expect a FOL until at least 2011 with the hiring slowdown.
I was fine with the long wait because I had a job I really liked and was doing well with. However, that all changed on Friday, 1/22. I was laid off....
I really am in no mood to find another job when I already know that I am going to eventually work for the FAA. So, something that I always have wanted to do is serve my country in the military. Is it possible to be an Air Traffic Controller and be in the Air Force Reserves? Or any branch of the reserves for that matter? If this is an option and I can do both of these concurrently, that would be great. But, I don't want to do it if it would not allow me to pursue ATC.
I am currently signed up for CCT with the USAF (active). However, at this stage in my life I would rather pursue the FAA. If the FAA does not work out I am going to go that route.

Sorry about the delay in responding. You caught right in the middle of a move to a new job. I have already passed your question along to my contacts at the academy and will post my response as soon as I have it.

As you (and anyone following these threads can see,) I am not actually involved at the academy. I am serving as a liaison of sorts between this board and the folks there. I am working on securing a couple of people to register here that will be able to answer these questions directly (I am not fond of the "passing the buck" that I am having to currently do but I would rather do that than have no presence on the board at all.) My promise to all is keep working issues until I get answers and to also keep working on bringing those with the answers closer to those with the questions.
