Memphis center personnel question
Posted: 02-19-2010, 06:57 AM

I was flying Tuesday 16 Feb, talking with Memphis on 135.22 around 2000z and when I got handed off the controller said "talk to you later Matt" so he must have recognized my voice but I can't think of who I know at ZME. Can anyone help me out?

I just had another thought, does the pilot's name get included on the strip? Maybe he was just reading it...

Thanks!

There are a couple of folks (that I know of) that are originally from the Atlanta area that would work that sector. One of whom I just met yesterday and me being bad with names I can't recall what his name is.

But no, the pilot's name isn't on the strip unless you put it in the remarks of your flight plan.

Maybe he says that to everyone. And most pilots are like, "Huh?", but every so once in a while you'll get one that goes, "WWWHHHHOOAAAAA. These guys KNOW me."

ive thrown out my fare share of "talk to you later bro" to aircraft leaving my airspace. sometimes it breaks the monotony of "g'day"

There was a glitch in the sim i used to use. When a specific plane went off to certain sector, when you gave it the freq change it would come back with "switching to 1-2-8-point-9er-9er-9er-9er-9er-9er-9er-9er-9er-9er...BYE"
