Atc game
Posted: 03-04-2010, 09:11 PM Has anyone played the ATC game online? How do you know when to turn those suckers? It seems like a lot of guesswork to me. I have no ATC experience if you can't tell. I'm hoping it gets more complex in later levels.

Re: ATC GAME lol
Posted: 03-04-2010, 09:39 PM I didn't realize there were so many. I'm not sure I'll have to check when I get home from work. Gimme an hour or two. It's the one that you can click to see the 3 mile radius circles that are highlighted in red around the tags. The first level has a bunch of 6's around it, and it is a black screen with a horizontal approach line in the center of the screen. A guy comes up and says I'll get fired if my planes get close one more time, etc... That's all I could play in the 30 minutes before I had to take off for work..

Re: ATC GAME lol
Posted: 03-04-2010, 11:22 PM much like this game, the FAA is actually testing point and click control instructions that are delivered to pilots via a text message similar to ACARS. its part of this whole NEXGEN baloney. they found that the time needed for a controller to give an instruction over the frequency and to hear the readback averages at about 3 seconds. the time for a controller to point, click, enter data and have it delivered and rogered via computer averages at a little over 7 seconds. thats way too slow to be practical. maybe by 2025 they'll have all this sorted out.
