FAA Reauthorization
Posted: 03-05-2010, 09:47 AM Please vote YES for S.1451. By doing this you will be able to fill out your information and the website will automatically generate a letter to your Senator. This bill has been in the makings for a few years now and is long awaited. It will fund our aviation system for the decade or so. It also has some key language in it to protect our air traffic controllers from unfair labor practices and the ability to enter into fair negotiations with the FAA.
If you are involved in aviation in any way, please do us a favor and submit your information. Please forward this to anyone that you know as well. (Parents, sons, daughters, co-workers, friends....every little bit helps!). It only takes about 30 seconds to complete the form (if you type fast) and about 1 minute to complete the form if you type slow. Please take the time and do this. Take Action: Bring S.1451 to the Senate floor and vote YES!!! |

Re: FAA Reauthorization
Posted: 03-05-2010, 04:59 PM you know what else is in this bill. it would make crazy taxes on general aviation. it will add tax to gas, faa tests, it will charge ga to use atc services. $50 for most atc services that are free right now.

Re: FAA Reauthorization
Posted: 03-05-2010, 09:34 PM so if people have to start paying for atc services they just wont use them if they can get away with it. makeing things less safe which is why the gov pays for atc in the first place

"The Senate bill, S.1451, does not contain user-fee language. Committee Chairman Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) had tried to push through a $25-per-flight air traffic control fee during the reauthorization debate in the previous Congress, but dropped the effort last spring after the user charge had stalled the bill."If I'm missing something, please point it out, but it sounds like you're going on some pretty old information. AOPA fielded the opposition to user fees a long time ago. |

Re: FAA Reauthorization
Posted: 03-06-2010, 01:53 AM I posted a link the other day and it was from washingtonwatch.com, they had somehow figured that the bill will increase taxes and it will cost an average tax payer $83 dollars and something cents.

Re: FAA Reauthorization
Posted: 03-09-2010, 05:09 PM And just as you thought we were about to see some progress, Tennessee has teamed up to put a hold on the bill because they don't want FedEx to unionize. FedEx labor issue still knots FAA reauthorization bill The Commercial Appeal
Long live Jim Bunning's legacy, I guess. |
