HR Email/TOL confusion
Posted: 10-16-2008, 10:18 AM I received and HR email saying your were selected for enroute (no sepcific facility), then one that corrected that to terminal, then another HR email (from a different region) saying terminal, then the PEPC/TOL email with the facility.
The HR emails had two forms to fill out. Now my question is: I was a CTI student, my other classmates only got the PEPC/TOL email...I got HR emails (numerous ones, as there appeared to be some confusion). Now I realize I really only got 2 extra HR emails, as one was a correction, but still I got two HR emails, apparently from different regions, and a TOL, my classmates just got the TOL. On top of that, the HR emails says you only find out your facility after the interview, that is obviously not the case...any ideas? |

Posted: 10-16-2008, 10:41 AM Make sure that you didn't mistake the original selection email for your TOL. This is NOT the case. You will receive your TOL at the PEPC or Interview. Most people received a original email that stated you were selected and to expect further PEPC information, a email that had a PEPC invite with a facility, and then a PEPC confirmation if you requested to go. As well you should have gotten a email stating who your HR representative is and should have contained two separate forms, one being the contact information and another asking about relatives currently working for the FAA.
Double check and see what you actually have. |

Posted: 10-16-2008, 10:53 AM I have an email that says you have been selected for further consideration for the <specific facility ATCT>. Then it lists the PEPC info. AND yes it did say a specific facility, with the confusion there seemed to be, I just don't want to list it in case it changes ;-)
EDIT: I see what your saying, that the initial email is NOT the TOL...i see that now, however, it did say a facility, and I still got HR emails (which my other class mates did not get)...the HR letters had the two documents you mentioned. Looking at your sig block you got the ZNY offer (with PEPC date info, I am assuming). In what email did they send you the contact info/family documents? |

Posted: 10-16-2008, 12:01 PM The first email you received.. the "Air Traffic Control Applicant" email had two documents attached to be filled out and sent back to the HR contact who sent you the email. Also if you all read the email they state three documents to be filled out and sent back ( (1) Applicant Contact Information form; (2) OF-306, Declaration for Federal Employment; and (3) FAA Form 3300-9, Record of Family Relationship) but only attached two( (1) Applicant Contact Information form; and (3) FAA Form 3300-9, Record of Family Relationship). Posted: 10-16-2008, 12:19 PM Yep...I understand that. However, my question is: I received an initial email from 9-cto, with a specific facility listed before I even filled out those two documents. In addition as far as I know, a few of my class mates never got the Air traffic control applicant email. They Just got a email (like I did as well) saying "...further consideration for <facility>" and with PEPC info. It appears from the responses I am getting people are still confused to what happened in my case (as am I)...here is as plain as I can make it:
On this past Saturday, I checked my email and had 5 emails from the FAA, all sent between 10am and 5pm on the day before (friday). 1.) An applicant (HR) email for "en route" with the two/three forms to be filled out 2.) An applicant (HR) email from the same person correction the previous saying "terminal" 3.) A message from 9-cto saying "you are being considered for <facility>, it also had PEPC date information, with a request to respond by Oct 20. 4.) Another applicant email from a different person, apparently in a different region, with two forms to fill out (this one did not mention the third form) 5.) A correction to a phone number on that applicant email. what confuses me is: Why did my classmates not get the applicant email? Why does the applicant email say we can not release facility info until after the interview/pepc, and the 9-cto sends and email with a facility? Again, I appreciate all the input, I hope that clears up my confusion (thats kind of a awkward phrase, clears up my confusion ;-) )...thanks |

I think that the process is changing and they have not changed the original emails but have included the facilities int eh PEPC emails. I am not sure if I would consider those a TOL though. It doesn't have a date or pay or anything?
Just to help show how crazy the FAA is I applied with 3 of my friends we will call us 1-me 2,3, and 4. 1,2,and 3 received the first 2 emails.. but 4 did not 2,3, and 4 received the other emails and I (being 1) did not. FAA is rarely consistent. |
