Re: FAA Facility Reclass
Posted: 09-12-2011, 02:51 PM you will save pay indefinetly if you transfer to a lower level facility and your base falls within the pay band of the new facility..if you are above you are set at the top..in your ZAU example if you were checked out at a 12 you could transfer to a 9 and save pay. Might never get a raise though

Re: FAA Facility Reclass
Posted: 09-23-2011, 09:28 AM Example, say your base pay with locality is 90k and you want to go to a lower facility with lower locality but the pay band for the new facility is 80k-105k. Would i keep the 90k base lose out cause of the new locality?

CIP, Cola and Locality change with the station. That's why a CPC transferring up from ZOA at a level 11 to a 12 like NCT or ZNY would see a pay cut. Transferring down works the same way. We have some people that transferred here in their final three years from ZJX just to boost retirement pay on our 35% locality. One is in an area that provides approach services to multiple airports using 3 mile rules.... Coming from a ZJX area with only high sectors can make that a challenge. He's apparently having a rough time. |
