NORCAL TRACON vs SOCAL TRACON
Posted: 12-16-2008, 10:26 PM

Let the battle begin!! I'm trying to figure out which California TRACON is the better choice. The Sacremento Area or San Diego Area... Anyone from either TRACON I'd really like to hear what you think. How's the training, The Managers, the surrounding area, etc, etc, etc...

Socal!!!

Socal is a level 12 and I believe Norcal is a 11. You can do everything in Southern California. Surf and snowboard in the same day. Go to the desert/Glamis/Disney Land/Sea World/San Diego Zoo/LegoLand/ and Mexico (if your crazy) all in the same day. Nice weather year round. I'm biased because I grew up in Southern Cali.

The traffic at work is fun and challenging. Training is slow and the training department is way behind the curve. Raytheon (sp?) is not helping the situation. We are about to go back to six areas vs five areas. This should help speed up training for new hires (Less sectors to certify on).

We have new management. Who knows how it will turn out? It can't really be any worse.

I love my job and the area I'm in. Come on down, we need you!

NorCal...they have their own water. SoCal relies on others for their water.

Are you serious? You're trying to compare Sacramento to San Diego, its like comparing Oklahoma to Hawaii.

obviously level 12 has a lot to do with it, but NCT is also a 12. not as busy as SCT though. SCT has a high washout rate cuz it's freakin busy and complex. i haven't looked at numbers in a while but last i looked SCT was the busiest facility in the nation.
