If an OE or OD is discovered via random audits, that wasn't reported, the controller/s involved can be potentially charged with trying to cover up a OE/OD which leads to more trouble and hell from management.

Which is more the reason why you should always file an ATSAP for OE/ODs that were not caught by anyone other than yourself. Now if you committed an OE/OD and you didn't know you did, as soon as you are made aware of it, you need to file the ATSAP.
