Aircraft Indentification Book
Posted: 07-02-2009, 06:30 PM

I've seen a book around that was a good guide to aircraft identifying features and other useful information like whether or not it is a heavy. It had pictures of all the aircraft. Does anyone know what this book is called or any other useful resource like this?

Jane's...

Most are pricey but they have a small soft back "aircraft identifying guide" book on Ebay for about $12. I'll check if I can find it.

If you've got an iPhone, here's an app that can help with recognition. Really only good for someone who can't tell one airliner from another, and it's a limited selection, but hey, it's free. There's a paid version too; I don't know what that comes with because I haven't gotten around to buying it yet.
