Hopefully all those meetings were discussing how to get the OKC ball rolling again!!!

But wow! $5 million Christmas party. I wonder what they did for the 8 crazy nights of Hanukkah?!

Anyone watch this on ABC it was just on? Not looking good for Hank. If you watch the full undercover video online he is obviously under the influence.

Party Time at the FAA; Critics Question $5 Million Gathering - ABC News

Surprised nobody had posted this yet. I hate seeing taxpayer's money wasted as much as anyone else but I think ABC news was a little hardcore on this one...

21 Days of Christmas FLM style

I was a little creative with the title in lieu of the "12 Days" thread

I watched that on the news tonight, It seems that people always want take down what they don't understand/can't have. If only they knew what this job was all about.

?????
The report was spot on, it was a huge waste of gov. money having this Kool-Aid fest under the guise of "contract training".

Our flm had the nerve to talk to some other flm at some other facility on the phone about the trip as this other flm was about to go. Our flm was signed on cic stealing our money doing this too. What we all gathered was that they were not required to go to any class/meeting/gatherings or whatever they were called. They were mostly out all night partying. We heard all this from the flms mouth. When asked if the flm learned anything or had any information the answer was no. What an ass.

I will never defend wasting taxpayer money but lets all be real here. I know someone personally that attended the briefing and I hardly believe that this report was accurate. Briefings ran from 8am-6pm everyday. So what if they went and partied all night? Didn't we all have a good time at RTF, partying on our off time? Ever been to the OJTI training course on the taxpayers dime? Not to mention every boondoggle course the FAA offers in OKC that controllers willingly attend? Never once have I been in the hole after an FAA OR Air Force paid trip. The amount the gov't allows us to spend is more than we need. Maybe the gov't needs to scale back what it allows instead of attacking the folks using the system to their advantage.

Also, what will we as controllers gain from this? We got our contract, our blue jeans, article 33's etc...what more are we looking for?

And "christmas party" disguised as a conference??? If I was sent to ATL without my family for a week around the holidays, I'd be pissed, not excited. Granted some of the guys in the video made themselves look like idiots but we don't know what the circumstances were. I would put money on the fact that the female reporter undercover was attractive and asking all the right questions to get the responses desired. Anyway, it's time to move on and move forward...flame away
