My husband did... It's taking him like a week already to get back to him and still no word yet! We are moving to an expensive city and I need to know how much we can spend in rent =)

Use the button on the left of the screen that says Ask NATCA or PM Doug Church on here. He's the guy that answers the NATCA questions on here. He usually pops in a time or two a week and he would know the answer for you.

pretty sure you keep your current money and then fall into whatever pay band that is for a level 9. might be D1.

Developmental Controller Transfer:

1. Upon voluntary transfer to a higher-level facility, Basic Pay is unchanged. Future pay increases are made in accordance with successful progression through the developmental stages and Section 5.

Basic Pay is defined as employee’s pay rate excluding applicable Locality Pay adjustment in effect. There might be a change in locality. For example if your current locality is 13.00% and the new location is 20% you would see a 7% increase in pay.

First of all it is rare (almost un-heard of) that a developmental gets to transfer to a higher level facility. Since you are not tower or facility rated, your base pay should stay the same, but I'd strongly suggest getting in touch with the regional office payroll people and get an official ruling.

My husband is going from Portland Maine to Baltimore Maryland. So a level 7 to 9. We will do that thank you! =)

So technically he will stay a D2 at a level 7? Even if he is at a 9 until he checks out?

He will go to level 9 D1 pay. IIRC trainees do not save pay.
