Default United Airlines vs FAA

So here's the deal...

I was an Air Force controller in Grand Forks, ND ( I know...ewww) from 2002-2005. Then I became a Flight Attendant for United Airlines from 2006-present! So today UAL announced that they were going to furlough (layoff) 1,550 flight attendants! Chances to take the voluntary furlough end Oct 31st! So...I am really hoping that I hear from the FAA before that. I got my score from AT-SAT (a 94.7!!!) on August 18th. So...now just a waiting game! But, if all the timing works out, I would be able to take a furlough from United and be able to keep all my benefits including all my free travel for the next 2 years or so!!! Just hope the FAA has their S*%t together and gets to me soon!!

You will more than likely get hired, your start date is the big hurdle.

The hiring being made in September is for jobs and class dates NEXT YEAR... so if you hear in the next month that you get hired, expect atleast 4 months of vacation, sorry.

only thing I can think of is that it can take 4+ months to get to OKC after getting on a referal list. When you make it that far, going to a PEPC can shave a month or so off the time it takes.

I went non PEPC and it was 6 months to the day from posting close out to get to OKC. Know another person who did PEPC, took about 5 months and another who did PEPC and they made it in 4-5 months. These were all VRA postings this year.

Ive got a bit of an inside track on an FAA slot I want. Ive been talking with the ATM at the tower and the Hub Manager for my region. The Hub Manager told me they will be hiring next month and that they are all slots for next year.
