Just putting this out there... This is the ATC Employment Forum which means people wanting information about hiring and what to expect. This has nothing to do with experience talking to planes so before anyone bashes a good amount of people on here for not talking to planes, well, NO SHIT! You may be in the wrong forum.

Holy Crap... lets just whip up out, lay 'em on the table, and measure them so we can see who wins this pissing contest.

Can't we all just be friends, sing some songs around a campfire, roast some marshmallows, drink some beer, laugh about how long we've been waiting?

thanks man...it just irks the hell out of me when this guy posts this for help and these people bash him instead of helping him. Its a forum for help not bashing people for how they arrived to this job.

haha yea let me get a beer for this monday...

I understand and it's crazy how this forum turned so fast into a "you paid $120,000 for your education" cat fight rather than throwing some useful information his way. Strangely enough, this happens in most forums on the web with people getting fed up with redundant questions being asked over and over and weary members getting tired of it. It also doesn't help that tensions are high over the snails pace of the FAA over the past year.

Thanks for the military service but really your not better than anyone else on here when it comes to the job.
I'm not asking for your help with anything(unless your taking randy's job). I'm not a military controller, or an ex military controller.

My good friends are military and cti controllers which when you think about it can really help each other out. Unfortunately you missed that bus.
Sorry if I came across sounding like a dick but your post sounded a like a cocky CTI who knows everything. I know how to network as good as anybody, I'm just not to the point where I need to yet.
Just to set the record straight I don't know shit about ATC. I'm starting a CTI program this fall. I'm not going to riddle bc I can't afford 120k and I can do it cheaper somewhere else. Go back to the first page and I didn't start the bashing on the riddle grads. I think your all a little crazy for paying that much, but that's about it.

And Noid is right, if you are asking for lvl12 from the start... then obviously that education didn't pay off. Cause thats career suicide.

Hmm.. You guys are funny.. I never said I want to go to a level 12??? I was just giving examples of hard to staff places, but ATL and NY have alot of students that wash out and dont make it.. Ill say it again I want Florida. i have lived here my whole life, all my family and friends r in florida, Florida is where I want. Texas I chose cuz there are many facilities.

Just pick a state where you want to live, and enjoy waiting because thats all you can do.

P.S. Tuition doesn't make one school better than another. I hate to break the news to you but in all actuality you'll probably be waiting 2-3 from graduation until OKC/Facility. How much of that $120k education do you think you'll have retained during your 2-3 year break? And seeing as how the REAL learning starts once you arrive at your facility, do you think you and your $120k degree is any better off than me and my $3k (15 months) degree? Yeah we have simulators too.

Actully the wait time is not that long.. I have 5 friends that graduated right before me, and they are already working at JAX Center. They waited about a year. And why is the education so high at Riddle.. Well lets see. Your paying for that Reputation of the School. Why you think Harvard Law school is soo much?? your paying for the name.. ya the education might be a little better and the professors are more focused on how well you are getting it. But no ur right for ATC it doesn't matter what school.. but with a degree from riddle. No offense to others out there, but the riddle grads will stand out a lil more... cuz of the reputation and its a god damn aeronautical university.

this atc thing is a long long road. keep in mind you have to get to the academy.........pass the PV....then when you get to your facility you have A LOT of PV's there as well. Kid at my facility made it all the way to his last three radar associate problems, a mere one month out from becoming a CPC after a year and a half of training.........and washed out. He was a CTI grad. It doesnt matter what kind of education you have, or if your a vra, or your off the street..........you either get it or you dont. Just my .02

Reputation? Think twice about that for ATC seeing how they almost lost their accreditation a few years ago. I don't mean to burst your bubble, but there are better CTI schools out there. I know you probably don't care, but that's alright.
