What the selection panels will see

Who says they go right down the list when they make selections? I don't understand how you know more about it than the managers that are actually on the panels. You don't even work for the FAA yet my friend.

Tim, give the FAA more credit than that. They might be slow, inefficient, and sometimes questionable, but they are far from stupid. If they went in alphabetical order, don't you think that would be a little silly?

Personally, my last name starts with "H". So let's say they start at "A". By the time they get to "G", all spots are full.

I am throwing down a suit for not being fairly evaluated on my qualifications and test performance. I win based on the "Equal Opportunity Employer" logo in the bottom right of the FAA ASAP application.

It's really that simple.

I never said they "went in alphabetical order". I said the referral lists are arranged in alphabetical order, there's a big difference. The referral list has to be arranged some way don't you agree? This is what the Air Traffic Manager of one of the busiest facilities in the country, who is part of the hiring panels, told me. "We get the lists in alphabetical order." Direct quote from the email. It's really that simple.

BTW, I'm sorry I brought it up, it's not even that big of a deal.

They could be in order but still scan for good candidates. Maybe Christmas tree it.

Like I said, believe whatever you want. Me, I take my stuff from the official documents released by the FAA because you'll hear a million different things from a million different people. If the alphabetical order thing is a big deal for you, don't let me stop you from going with it. Go nuts. I have no idea why you're so worked up about it.

At least tell us how the referral list is ordered and maybe a link to the document you read it in. You must know if you're so certain it's not alphabetically. Only thing that works me up is how you say someone is wrong based only on your opinion of what you think makes sense.
