Do washouts from centers get sent to lower level terminals or do they get fired all together?

it totally just depends. it's not guaranteed that you'll get a lower level facility. chances are if you did your 1 year and showed some promise, then you'll get a lower level facility. it depends on the facility manager, your performance, and many other things. luck comes into play also.

hope this vague answer is what you were looking for.

If you are liked and show potential then you may get a second chance at a slow tower. I also hear that if you held a certain amount of ratings while at the center it will increase your chances of replacement

Pretty sure if you get up to D2-D3 you are guaranteed a position at a lower facility. If you do not get anything (fail out in dysim) your chances are not as great. Everyone I have seen who has failed out with nothing has been placed at a tower. But you are not guaranteed such treatment and if you had a bad attitude you may not get into a tower. They need to actually want you, and if your facility manager/supervisor doesn't like you they do not have to give a good recommendation. Just another reason to show up with a great attitude, ready, and eager to train.

i haven't read anywhere in the red book where u are GUARANTEED placement. it makes complete sense that a D2/D3 SHOULD get the opportunity to be placed somewhere.

My roommates make it sound like you're pretty much guaranteed a position in a lower level facility after a certain point. I've known a few people that have washed out of ZKC that are now in towers as well.

it all depends on your probationary year being up, and having people go to bat for you with management.

as far as d-level, every place has those scopes that are so easy a monkey with downs could do it... so if you hit d2 and still suck, and your training team realizes its a complete loss to keep goin, theyll wash you and IF YOURE LUCKY theyll reassign you to a lower level fac. but doing you one year in is the real key.

There are no GUARANTEES. The contract says you MAY be given an opportunity if a vacancy exists somewhere else. As crowded as the training is, it is getting harder to find those vacancies.

I remember seeing it in writing of getting to a certain point in training gives you the opportunity to be reassigned to a lower level. I think it may be in the training order, not the red book, but I could also be making this up...

from the red book

Quote:
ARTICLE 61 REASSIGNMENT OF TRAINING FAILURES

Section 2. Developmental employees who are unsuccessful in training and have completed their probationary period may be given an opportunity at a lower level facility if a vacancy exists. These employees will be provided a list of up to five (5) facilities in which the employee may select for reassignment.
I see the 2 bolded words being the key. You have to have completed your probationary period and they MAY be given an opportunity at a lower level facility.

You could still be reassigned if you didn't complete probation but it's not guaranteed. In fact, even if you did finish your probation it's not guaranteed.
