2012 Pay Scale Calculator
Posted: 08-06-2012, 04:15 PM

As a non elite member I couldn't access the pay scale calculator provided on this site so I thought I would make a quick rough copy version for those having the same problem. I will update as soon as the 2013 Pay Band comes out. Insert the locality percentage in cell B22 (ei: 22.52), and press enter then the "calculate" button and it will generate the 2012 Pay Band including locality pay. Let me know of any issues.

***Edit: If the calculate button isn't working, you need to enable macros. Hit the office button, Excel Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings, Macro Settings, Enable all macros.

Also, the AG row has been corrected from $37k to $37,070. New file has been uploaded.

I guess my real question is how long does it take to hit the top of the scale?
Depends. How much are your raises each year? We could get a 0.6% raise every year from now till everyone on this site is retired. We could end up getting 5% raises every year for a decade. We could go back to the SCI and OSCI formula or whatever it was called under the IWRs, so my answer may be different than your answer.

Unless you have a crystal ball and can predict how Congress and the President as well as the FAA and NATCA are going to allow/negotiate/suspend/halt/freeze/change rating systems throughout your career, nobody anywhere knows.

Of course if you get a double downgrade, you'll hit the top of your new payband pretty freaking fast.

Short answer, between 2 years (save pay post downgrade) and never.

Better not make this mistake when looking at call signs! Haha! I'm kidding man. Thanks for building the calculator.

I don't know what's wrong with mine. I followed the directions correctly (with enabled macros), yet right after I hit calculate, I get a new 2012 (including locality pay) pay band right underneath it that shows nothing but a bunch of #REF! everywhere where a $ value should be.
