Transfering after Failing to CPC
Posted: 02-11-2009, 12:19 PM

Hi,

I am a D3 at a Level 11 Facility.

My trainers said it is very unlikely that I will get more time and should consider transfering to a lower level facility.

Does anyone know what Level I have to bid down to? Can I bid to a Level 10 or does it have to be a Level 9 or less?

Thanks,

Hollister

My suggestion. Take the transfer. Go to a lower volume place and get your certification done. Spend some time working there then see about transferring back to a higher level.

I know someone who got checked out of half the positions in a level 11 tower. They weren't going to make LC 1 and 2 so they sent her to a level 9 tower. I don't know if she went to the level 9 because a level 10 is not available or if they HAD to send her to a level 9 due to some regs.

Good luck...if you aren't going to get the hours, be happy with getting sent to another facility instead of out on your can; these situations happen.

I think I remember reading on here that you can't bid up more than three levels, but I haven't seen anything about demotions.

Don't know if it helps but I am at a level 12 and we just recently had a developmental who was unable to pass R class and was offered 5 towers. I believe 4 of those were level 5 towers and 1 was a level 6.

FYI this about not bidding up 3 levels is true...kind of. If you are at 5 or 6 for instance, you can only ERR (Employee Request for Reassignment) to a facility within the 3 levels if that facility DOES NOT have a bid for new controllers out. If on the other hand a level 12 facility DOES have a published bid out you can bid from any level regardless of the difference in levels.

Thanks for the clarification! I was curious about that.
