Terminal VS Enroute pay clarification
Posted: 02-21-2009, 10:00 PM Hi all, so i am new to this and in need of some clarification on the pay of terminal vs enroute. From what i gather from the posts, enroute pays more, but as i use the pay calculator with different places it doesnt really matter if its enroute or terminal it just changes for locality and level of the facility, is there something i am missing?

Re: Terminal VS Enroute pay clarification
Posted: 02-22-2009, 01:17 AM pay is based on level of facility + the amount of locality pay for the area of the country your at.
like Mirt said, a level 11 tower, a level 11 tracon, and a level 11 center all make the same base pay. a level 11 center in Oakland will make more than a level 11 center in Salt Lake because the locality pay is more in Oakland. what your probably hearing, about how enroute makes more than terminal is based on average pay. CONUS centers are level 11 and 12 (with a couple 10's: ZSE, ZAB, etc). so right away enroute facilities are the busiest level facilities available. terminal facilities vary greatly, with a bunch being as low as a level 5 facility. so the average terminal facility probably ends up being near a level 9 or so, while the average en route facility is a level 11. so that's where the perception of en route being higher paid than terminal facilities. |
