How long between your initial medical clearence and your checkup?
Posted: 05-25-2009, 03:37 PM

Hey all,

I have a quick question for current controllers who are out of academy. When can I expect to get my next medical checkup? I was cleared by the flight surgeon awhile ago and I?m attending academy on June 3rd. Then I?ll head to HIO. I wonder when I can expect my next check up because I was borderline on the blood pressure standards. I?m working on it, but I can?t imagine that my stress is going to decrease much in the next year or two. So how long was it from your initial medical clearance until your next check up? I know it?s probably different for everyone but any help I can get would be appreciated.

Also, if I pass academy and get to my facility and on my next check up my blood pressure is too high, am I done with the FAA or do they work with you? I?m not too worried about it. I?m just curious. Thanks.

Your next checkup will be in the month of your birthday, whenever that is at your facility.
