Security Clearance Question
Posted: 06-09-2009, 03:08 PM I'm a DoD controller (Civilian) going to the Chicago PEPC at the end of this month. I already have a current "Secret" Clearance as well as a Class II Physical. Does anyone know if I will have to go through the process of getting a brand new security clearance even though I already have an active one?

Re: Security Clearance Question
Posted: 06-09-2009, 03:15 PM yeah, believe it or not they dont care what clearances you have currently... they will make you get them all over again. Im working as a controller right now with a current class II and a current security clearance and a prior-military secret clearance and I had to do everything, haha.
Thats just how they do things |

Re: Security Clearance Question
Posted: 06-09-2009, 03:27 PM If it were the other way around... going from FAA to DOD I believe you can use your current certs, but DOD to FAA they make you take them over haha. The FAA is picky.

Re: Security Clearance Question
Posted: 06-10-2009, 12:14 PM Do not talk to your HR rep about that, they will tell you regardless. Get in contact with the security division. I have one with the FCT Im currently at, and they said I was good. A couple of phone calls of he said she said, with the HR rep and the security division, it was taken care of.
