Denver Center vs Denver TRACON vs Denver Tower

Hello everyone,

I think I am like a LOT of people in the ATC community (at least a lot of people that i've spoken with) and want to be hired and placed in the state of Colorado. But I'm still not sure where I would want to be placed yet. I'm leaning towards either Center or TRACON but I haven't ruled out the Idea of working in a tower. So what I'm looking for is information on any of the three (Denver Center, Denver TRACON or Denver Tower)...

What do you like about the facility, what do you not like about it?
How busy does it get at your facility?
How hard was training or getting certified at your location?
Have you heard if or how much they will be hiring in the next year?
Anything else you want to share about the facility?

Im not too sure about much of any of these. lol. sry. But, currently, im enrolled in cti program in Greeley, Co. Real close to the center. I love the place. Been there twice. Great group of people that I met. One of the times I was able to plug in and ask questions and stuff. When I was plugged in I remembered there was a time span of about 20 min when we had two planes in our sector. Guess that could give you an idea of what some times might be. Dont get me wrong it still gets busy! Real busy!

Thats all i know! Im going to tour the tower and tracon in Denver pretty soon.

DEN is a 12. more money and easier than D01. nuff said.

Havnt got the tour for den tower or den tracon yet. Been really busy finshing up with school for the semester. Ill be done with this semester first week of May. So, hopefully something like 2nd week in May ill be able to tour both of them.

Could someone help me with understanding the facility ratings? Why is DEN a level 12 and yet D01 is an 11? Tracon handles all of DEN traffic plus surrounding airports and PUB and GJC. You would think it would be vis versa

it should be vice versa. makes no sense. the guys at DEN love it, the guys at D01 thinks it's BS. it's the FAA and their infinite wisdom. i guess they figure D01 has 100 times more airspace to work with than DEN.

Yep, the tower's rated higher and you can get checked out in a tower much quicker then a TRACON or center. Really a no brainer if you have the option of the 3.

DEN Tower is 12, DEN TRACON is 11, and DEN Center is a 10... anyway you cut that it doesn't make much sense. I work at the TRACON and from I can tell knowone is getting Denver Tower offers, only TRACON and Center positions are being filled. That's from my experience.
