Cle approach-new pattern

I was on a flight into CLE the other day, flying in from the east using runway 2-4 for years you would approcah the city and fly over downtown,
but I noticed we were flying parellel with 480 westbound for several miles then turned into runway 2-4. Also I live on the east side of Cleveland about 24 miles from the airport and planes used to fly near my house then head over downtown, but again aircraft now fly more southwest near I 480. Is this a new approcah route for noise abbaitment near the airport or temporary. Aircraft were using the downtown route as long as I can rememeber more then 40 years.
