WA facitilies?
Posted: 09-05-2009, 11:07 PM Anyone have any gouge on facility levels over in Washington? I think I'm falling for Seattle and would love to be over there. Any controllers here work there?

Re: WA facitilies?
Posted: 09-06-2009, 12:02 PM No working controllers anywhere in Washington on here just yet. Off the top of my head, there're a handful of us are going to Seattle Center, an inactive member is going to Moses Lake (might already be there)... think that's it. Backgammonsux works as an RPO in either ZSE or Seattle TRACON, I think, and I know a few people are interested in heading to the Seattle area who are still waiting on selections.
The best way to figure out if facilities are taking on people is to call them and speak with a manager, preferably the air traffic manager. Just call up, explain that you're an applicant interested in their facility and wanted to know if they'll be having any spots open for the next selection panels. Some will be helpful, some won't; some will know if they'll have spots open, some won't. You can try getting in touch with facility NATCA reps as well, most are pretty helpful. By the way, make sure that you call after the selection panels for PUBNAT7 (assuming that PUBNAT8 doesn't get combined with them). That way you'll have the most up-to-date information. On a side note, check out The FAA Follies. It's written by a ZSE controller. |
