Info on scheduling a visit at BUF
Posted: 11-13-2009, 01:10 PM

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I am an applicant of PUBNAT-7 and 8 currently living in long island, NY. I want to see if I can call the BUF up down to schedule a visit when I visit my parents around thanksgiving. Does anybody know how to go about doing this, and if they are able to give a tour on a weekend?

I have visited N90 a few times, only because i know a supervisor there but I have never called a tower up with this type of request.

Just give them a call, tell them that you're an applicant (and, if you've been selected, that too), and you'd like to drop in for a visit.

I was in BUF's tower about a month and a half ago. Can't remember the names of any of the guys there, but they were friendly enough. The airport staff, who you won't interact with a ton, are great people. Seemed like a pleasant place to work. There're a few pictures of the place here: Day Six - Jacksonville, New York, Buffalo - a set on Flickr

I'm honestly not familiar with the airspace at all. I can tell you that it's a smaller one... I dunno... I think there were four scopes there.
