District of Columbia Facilities
Posted: 12-21-2008, 07:11 PM Does anyone know what facilities would be considered if I were to only put down D.C. for my geo pref?
The "facilities contact list" states IAD, DCA, and ZDC. PCT is on there but it says to refer to Virginia for the contact info... Does this mean that Potomac TRACON is considered in the D.C. AND Virginia geo prefs? Also, what about BWI? You would think it might be included in the D.C. pref... In addition to the actual facilities that would be considered, does anyone know anything about getting into any of these facilities? Thanks... |

Re: District of Columbia Facilities
Posted: 12-21-2008, 09:07 PM Can anyone verify if DC is even a geo pref choice at all?
Correct, DCA is the only facility actually in the geographical boundaries of D.C. I am purely referring to the "facility contacts list" that is linked on the Facilities and Pay section of this site. I thought that maybe facilities such as ZDC would be included in the D.C. pref because of their relevance to operations in and around D.C. For example, I was told that Boston ARTCC was in the Massachusetts state preference, but the facility is actually located in New Hampshire. |

Re: District of Columbia Facilities
Posted: 12-21-2008, 09:35 PM from looking at past referral lists, there were referral lists made for Virginia, but none made for District of Colombia. There is no way to see the preferences now since there are no open CTI announcements. But it seems that there is no choice for DC. Unless, you apply OTS and upon receiving the geo pref email, you specify you would like DC.
Good Luck. |

Re: District of Columbia Facilities
Posted: 12-21-2008, 09:41 PM Ok thanks....I guess we'll assume there is no D.C. choice unless someone proves otherwise. Would DCA be considered VA or MD?
