No kidding about SXM! Maho Beach outside of Princess Juliana is a great place for plane-spotting. Don't plan on just stopping in while your cruise ship is in port though, the biggest planes (KLM 747, AF A340, and others) usually come in Wed, Thu, Sat & Sun. I've got some great shots from last time I was on the island.
