Like I said, if there were some more stringent regulations. There is a problem with the current system, but to do away with it completely would be a great injustice to those who do utilize it in the correct way. There should be a requirement of legitimate proof in seeking job betterment for any recipient, there should be a stringent time limit, there should be penalties for taking advantage of the system. There are many tweaks that could be made to the system, that goes the same for many other government projects that remain mismanaged or over/under-funded. The welfare problem could be fixed, Social Security's "crisis" could be fixed, the FAA's deal could be fixed; unfortunately, steroids in baseball and cheating in football trump the betterment of modern society. Have you even told your malingering acquaintances of your disapproval of their use of public assistance ![]()
