Well, I work at ZLA where you will be working. I grew up in LA and I would never live in the Lancaster/Palmdale area. There are pros to living there, but many cons as well. The only benefit I see to living in Palmdale is housing/renting is very cheap relative to the surrounding areas. I live in Santa Clarita, which is about a 35 minute drive to the facility. You can rent an average apt in Palmdale for between $700-1200 or buy the average house for about 235K-350K. In Santa Clarita/Valencia rent will be between $1200-1800 and the average house will be 380k-550K. I choose to live Santa Clarita because the area is safer, the school system is much better, there is ample things to do, and you are closer to all the cool stuff in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. If you have questions about the facility or the area email me at a311junky@hotmail.com.
