Let's clarify again so there are no misunderstandings...I was assigned to the USS Peleliu LHA-5 and we were on station off the coast of Somalia. The Det on the ship had some bad luck and roughly two-thirds of its controllers "popped" on a unrinalysis. So the CO pulled a couple of the ship's AC's that had gun quals and Voila you get to go ashore. I was back on board when the actual incident happened . We were actually doing circles off the coast about 50 miles at station "Purgatory".
