I am assuming that you mean using your FAA ID to go through security at airports I have showed them mine once and they wanted to see my drivers license instead. so if you are using it to impress them or think that you might get through faster it may not work. Give it a try and see what they say. I think that it throws them off too much.

I've used mine to get through check through airport check points. However it only throws counter people off, they have to ask their supervisor if its acceptable, ( the answer is yes government issued ID). If you show to the security screeners they will really bust your chops to prove that they are doing their jobs
