i would say MAJORITY is still getting their weekends off. i would venture to say around 25% of controllers at my facility are doing overtime at least once a month. some are doing more, by choice.
we work a reverse rotating (opposite of the AF) schedule. 1500, 1300, 0800, 0700, 0700. 2 people on every crew is swapping out the last 0700 for a 2300 (mid). so on their "thursday" they go home at 1400, and come back at 2300. that's right...an 8 hour break. 8 hours is all that is required in the civilian world. we had it nice in the AF and it's 12 hour required crew rest break.
