I'm a 24 yrs old Italian ATCO and I work as radar controller in Padova Area Control Center (a mix of your ARTCC and TRACON). We share our boundaries with Zurich (Switzerland), Munich (Germany), Wien (Austria), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Zagreb (Croatia) and also with the other three Italian ACC Milan, Rome and Brindisi.
One of our major airport is Venice (that is only 40km far from our center).

You would probably have to call the facility and ask them if a visit is possible. After 9/11 you have to go to a lot of extra stuff just to tour facilities expecially if you are not an FAA employee. I don't know the number but the address is 1515 Stewart Ave, Westbury, NY. Google the address for the phone number. From downtown Manhattan it is about 45 minutes away ( without traffic issues or road construction).
