that said: go for it and ask something meaningful. just make sure your not overly rude. there will definitely be some big wigs there that can hurt your career.
ask them why they classified an OE with less than 10% of standard separation lost as a PE/Proximity Event
Is it so that on paper it looks like controllers are having less OE's and making it look like the skies are safer even though they are struggling with manning. PE = OE out in the field, but when telling the flying public about OE's they conveniently leave out all the PE's so it looks like were having less deals across the board. Unfortunately for controllers it still counts as an OE in their records, but just not on the statistics shared with the general public.
Maybe you can word that nicely into an intelligent question that would put the FAA back on their heels. It's a legitimate question that isn't meant to be aggressively confrontational.

Remember, as a probationary employee you can be dismissed without cause. That being said, consider asking questions regarding the settlement agreement the FAA presented to NATCA which they have until the end of March to reply. I would be curious if they are willing to share any of the details it contains. Supposedly the offer proposes increases the bottom of all pay bands by 15% from their current levels. Just a thought. Will NATCA take it or walk away ![]()
