I was open to anywhere in the beginning, so Indy would have been fine, until I realized a transfer would be hard, if at all possible. I've been told it takes 3yrs to certify at a center and you have to stay wherever you are for at least a year after certification until they will even allow you to put in for a transfer. I couldn't have my family stuck there for 4yrs so I turned it down when i got it in Novemeber, and said that I wanted to be considered for the state of Florida, and Dallas/Fort Worth area so that my family could grow up around our relatives in those areas. I'm sure if you would wait it out, then you could get something in the DFW area. Its been all over the news in Dallas about how understaffed they have become at the TRACON. Things seem to be hectic in HR, no one knows much about when the panels are meeting and when they will contact ppl, etc. I put in for this April 07 and ATSAT tested in June, to give you an idea how long its been taking, but on the other hand I have friends that applied in May, interviewed in August and are finished with the academy and in their towers by Jan. I would definetely give Maggie a call and let her know what you want to do. Hope you get something their around DFW whether Tracon, Tower, or FT worth center (they are all really close to each other).
