I havent been there for about 1.5 years now... The Approach control is being run by the Italian Air Force and the tower is joint USAF and ITAF. There are zero Italian civilians or DoD contractors working there. Its a NATO wing and an ITAF base so the rules are pretty different from what I hear. In my opinion it is a long shot getting hired there. You'd have a better chance if you tried the DoD system as an American citizen then trying to be hired as an Italian Civilian. Good luck though.
